Critical Reflection

Module Learning -  It was a meaningful and memorable period to have this module in the first trimester of my university life to jump straight into discussions on the first day of school. It was the perfect opportunity at this stage of our lives, fresh out of national service and into university, to participate in this module to search for critical thinking and communication skills we have lost back while serving the nation.  Before taking on this module, I felt that the module was not needed as I thought I already had the communication and critical thinking skills in my inventory. However, I told myself to just listen and try to pick up things which I might not have learnt before. True enough, upon deeper listening, I realized that whatever skills I thought I had was nowhere near the level I thought I was. If someone asked me what this module taught me in a short answer, I would say that it taught me about communication and critical thinking is a continuous learning process. It will ne

Self-assessment for participation

I am participative in class, always asking questions to make sure I achieve the objective of each lesson. I thoroughly enjoy myself throughout the lessons as I manage to take away something at the end of every lesson. When it comes to assignments, I always make sure to submit on time and in the format Professor expects. Additionally, I make sure that I clarify with Professor whenever I have an doubts. Compared to the majority of students, I feel that I am more enthusiatic during lessons in replying Professor's questions. In the presentation and assignments,  my performance shows that I did understand what Professor taught us and applied accordingly. I feel that my enthusiasm and effort I placed in this module is above the average and therefore, I feel that I deserve an 'Excellent' grade.

Research Project and Tech Report Contributions

1. Wrote the background in the tech report 2. Created the google survey for primary research 3. Used ChatGPT for ideas on survey questions 4. Wrote the introduction and features for PlantBonne App 5. Introduced to the group the product name 'PlantBonne' 6. Did secondary research through google, finding out articles introducing plant growing devices that is currently available on the market. 7. In collboration with team members, we came out with the parameters of our product, finalising on what our product will feature. 8. Wrote the final gap and goal. 9. Created and designed the user interface image of the PlantBonne application. 10.  Made edits and changes accordingly to Professor's comments on section introduction paragraphs and better segregation of sections. 11. Wrote the product aspects in the report. 12. Created the presentations slides introducing our product and presented the features.

The web page, "What is Honda VTEC and how it works," (Hevesey, 2023) introduces the concept of VTEC (Variable Valve Timing & Electronic Lift Control), which is mainly used by Japanese automotive maker, Honda. VTEC makes use of rocker arms and camshaft to control the output power of the engine with a dual-profile camshaft that has two smaller outer lobes with a bigger center lobe. Principally, at low revolutions per minute (RPMs), the rocker arms are engaged with the two smaller outer camshaft lobes. Transiting to higher engine RPMs, the engine would see all three rocker arms on each cylinder fully engaged, actuating all three camshaft lobes, performing at their peak potential. VTEC was essentially made with the idea of maximizing mileage (Km/L) while still ensuring the vehicle is push out every bit of performance that is available in the engine through the action of the rocker arms and camshafts.  Honda became a leader in the industry by introducing VTEC, a ground-breakin

Honda led the industry by introducing VTEC ( Variable Valve Timing & Lift Electronic Control) , a groundbreaking innovation that provides users with many benefits through its dual-profile camshaft and lift control, despite not being the first manufacturer to introduce variable valve technology. VTEC can increase the engine’s maximum speed, which leads to higher peak power as much as a 25% increase (Layosa, 2014) . This is because a s the engine revolution speed increases, the engine control unit signals a spool valve to channel oil pressure, activating a pin that will lock the other two outer rocker arms to the arm in the center. This will then force the two outer arms to react upon the center cam, leading to a longer duration, higher lift, and timing optimized for high-end horsepower, as explained by Honda themselves ( VTEC® , 2022). The implementation of VTEC achieves the balance of power and fuel economy. At lower to mid-range engine revolution per minute (RPMs), the engine can
